dr sun yat sen classical chinese garden, that will feature these two artists. now, the instruments are, they're like erhus, i'm very

familiar with erhus, what are the names of these instruments? and they are different because? i noticed this one is a little higher? >> yeah, yeah. that's a very high, like a soprano, and this is more like a tenor.

>> well, they're very beautiful. i want to know, how long did it take you to master this instrument, a long time? >> yeah. i was trained in china in beijing opera school. i stayed there almost 16 years to learn this instrument.

>> and you've been playing for a long time i bet? >> i started as a fledgling for the beijing opera. so i was in school. >> austin, tell me a little bit more about the concert that's coming up in april at benaroya hall.

now, it features gearling and gerlong, and who else is going to be in the concert? >> well, in the concert, we'll have performers from china, korean, canada, of course, and the local u.s. here. >> so it sounds like you're combining asian and western

instruments and asian and western music? >> yes. it's a kind of a, we call it a fusage of asian and western music. >> now, you've told me you've composed some of the... there's a piece from kung fu

that's a double concerto. so you can imagine this two years from when they played with the whole western orchestra, plus the chinese music, to most american audiences, you never heard of before. so it's so exciting, a new experience of a musical.
